This Balwyn residence was one of our first design & build projects starting from site selection, acquisition, design, construct and furnish to market. An introductory project towards recognizing market demand to budget and quality control. Looking on since 2008, the residence is aging with quality and will continue to do so as designed.
The residence features custom imported terracotta shingles from France with copper details, European Oak parquetry flooring and American Oak custom cabinetry. On site 2 pac finishes, Calcutta marble slabs and Honed Travertine bathrooms. The grand height of the home exceeds 10.5 meters with 3.5 meter ceilings and a solid masonry front fence of 2.1 meters offering maximum privacy and thereby utilizing the front setback as a functional private courtyard.
The design goal that we had achieved was to create a sense of grandness through generous height proportions showing the unique roof tiles and pitch whilst maximizing the functionality of the limited 670 sq meter site.
A mixed used development of 80 Apartments ranging between 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms of generous sizing towards the owner occupier. Paragon is a 4 storey above ground building inspired by international image artist Philipp Schaerer. The design philosophy was a series of masculine layers with chiseled accents of balconies and terraces carved from the initial form centralizing from a generous entry courtyard.
HABITAS delivered the initial design concept, achieved the Planning Permit from VCAT and created the marketing and display suites. Through our network and followers, we had also achieved 38 sales out of the 80 Apartments for the first time developer.

A boutique development to achieve the correct sizes, layout and finishes towards an appealing marketing campaign that achieved success of full sellout within weeks.

An alternative typology to challenge developing on a standard allotment - Attached terrace town homes - offers independent town house living without the living constraints of an apartment block.
The designed was intended to resemble a side by side Town house from streetscape with a neutral and minimal material palette but high yielding of 5 multi storey residences within a single residential lot.
